More information about Richard Regal
A Londoner by birth, I now live in Alexandria in Virginia, near Washington, D. C.
After a dull and uneventful time at school, I ended up in Liverpool Polytechnic, where I collected a degree in accounting and finance. After that I trained as a chartered accountant with a small firm of accountants in Stanmore. Whilst doing that, I also passed my Chartered Institute of Taxation exams. There then followed a brief spell when I had some sort of social life, and I managed to acquire both a private pilot’s licence and a scuba diving certificate.
However, none of this fun and excitement fitted the image that an accountant is meant to possess, and so to redeem myself, I decided to study for an MBA. That wasn’t enough, however, as no sooner had I passed that, than I decided that actually, I’d really like to study the law, so I sat and passed the Bar Finals and became a non-practising barrister.
